Soldier laid to rest with full military honour in Bandipora

Waseem Ahmed Bhat, a soldier from Dachigam area of Bandipora was laid to rest with full military honours in his hometown on Sunday.

Bhat was killed during an encounter with militants at Halan forests in Kulgam district on Friday.

His death has brought a pale of gloom in his native village Dachagam and it’s adjoining areas.

He was among three soldiers who were injured in the encounter and later on he succumbed to his injuries at 92 Base hospital Srinagar.

The wreath laying ceremony was attended by Jammu Kashmir police, Army’s 144 RR, 26 Assam unit, CRPF 3rd bn in his native village of Dachigam Bandipora

Apart from security forces, hundreds of people participated in the last rites of Waseem.

Hundreds of local people besides officials of security forces were present to pay last respect to the soldier.

He has left behind his pregnant wife and other family members.

He had visited his home on Eid and every one in the family remembered his joyful nature.
