On Saturday, Jash n Gurez event was held in the breathtaking meadows of Gurez, where thousands of people participated in the event.

The event was organised by Indian Army in collaboration with local hoteliers and others.

The event showcased the local art, culture, and tradition which was lauded by the audience.

The event was attended by various artists including, Dr. Mujtaba Hussain, Tabla Maestro Irfan Hussain, famous sand artist Neha, Abid Ali, and various other local artists.

Even the event was local dancers including girls who enthralled audience.

“Such kind of events promote tourism prospectus of Gurez and attracts travellers all across the nation,” says Mushtaq Mapnoo, a local resident of Gurez.

He said that Indian Army is doing a tremendous job in promoting Gurez which has been neglected by previous political regimes.

“We are hopeful that Gurez will lead as a preferable tourist destination across the nation and credit goes to Army which have been on toes in promoting tourism for Gurez,” he further added.

Locals in large number turned up into the event, the flute performed by ustaad Dr. Mujtaba lit up the vibe, followed by Sufi and Bollywood numbers by Mr. Abid Ali and dance by the girls group.

The local Sultan and group also performed in the event. Later on a sand art show which depicted the battle, fought in 1948 for the liberation of Gurez.

Pertinently, at the conclusion of the event, the Indian Army Commander facilitated the senior citizens who contributed and played their part in the war of 1948.
