On the evening of July 31, 2023, a potentially disastrous accident was averted by the prompt action of the Indian Army at Shakti Brigade. At approximately 6:50 PM, a loud commotion was heard outside the security gate when a civilian truck collided with a civilian sumo vehicle, dragging it along before crashing into the boundary wall of the brigade.

The vigilant sentry immediately reported the incident, prompting the Quick Response Team (QRT) of the Indian Army to rush to the scene. Upon arrival, they found the civilians trapped and severely injured inside the vehicle. Without hesitation, the army personnel swiftly moved each civilian to safety, demonstrating their efficiency and dedication in ensuring the well-being of the public.

To manage the growing crowd and traffic at the scene, a cordon was established. The local police and ambulance were also summoned to provide additional support and worked in perfect harmony with the army to coordinate the rescue operation.

Thanks to the swift and coordinated efforts of all involved parties, a total of eight civilians and one defense personnel were rescued in a timely manner. Fortunately, none of them suffered any fatal injuries, marking the success of the rescue mission.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the cause of the accident was likely due to a brake failure in the civilian vehicle. Authorities are diligently working on further probing the incident, aided by the footage from security cameras installed along the boundary wall of the army establishment.

This incident serves as a testament to the preparedness and efficiency of the Indian Army in responding to emergencies and underscores their commitment to protecting and saving lives. The prompt and well-coordinated rescue operation has undoubtedly prevented a potentially tragic outcome, and the cooperation between the army, police, and medical personnel highlights the importance of collaborative efforts in ensuring public safety.
