DEO Kulgam reviews preparations for conducting SSR of Municipal Electoral Rolls-2023

The District Election Officer (DEO) Kulgam, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today convened a meeting regarding Special Summary Revision (SSR) of Municipal Electoral Roll 2023 and reviewed arrangements put in place to conduct the process smoothly.

The Dy-DEO apprised the chair that as per the Schedule issued by the Chief Electoral Officer J&K, the Draft Electoral Roll shall be published by the EROs of Municipal Council/Committee’s and people can file their claims and objections from 01 August to 11 August 2023

Disposal of claims and objections is to be done by or before16 August, 2023.

Moreover, special camps will be organized on 06 August (Sunday) and 10 August (Thursday) in the Municipal areas of Kulgam District.

The final publication of the Municipal Electoral Roll will be held on 25-03-2023.

The DEO instructed the concerned to ensure smooth conduct of this SSR of Municipal Electoral Roll so that no eligible voter is left behind.

The meeting was attended by ADDC, Showkat Ahmad Rather; EROs, Viqar Ahmed Giri and Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz; Dy-DEO, Bilal Ahmad Kamgar; AEROs, EOs and other concerned officers.
