Committee approves 85 credit card cases for artisans and weavers in Poonch

The District Task Force Committee on Thursday approved 85 credit card cases of artisans and weavers here at its meeting chaired by General Manager DIC Poonch,Dr Zakir Hussain, held in the Handicrafts and Handloom Office .

The meeting was attended by Deputy Director Employment, Mohd. Rafiq; Assistant Director Handloom & Handicrafts, Shazia Rehman; LDM J&K Bank, Ashutosh Raj Koul and District Officer KVIB, Mohammad Aziz.

In all 85 credit card cases were approved for the benefit of artisans and weavers of the district. The credit cards will provide financial assistance to the beneficiaries and help them in enhancing their craft and improving their livelihood.

Speaking on the occasion, the GM highlighted the importance of such schemes in promoting the handicrafts and handloom industry in the region and urged the beneficiaries to make the best use of the credit cards.

The meeting was a step towards the government’s commitment to uplift the artisans and weavers of the region and provide them with the necessary support to showcase their skills and contribute to the growth of the economy.
