DLSA Bhaderwah hosts awareness program on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bhaderwah today organized a day long awareness programme on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, here in Government High School Nagar Bhaderwah.

Secretary DLSA (Sub Judge) Romesh Lal was the chief guest on the occasion. The Headmaster of the school staff and students attended the event. The awareness programme was conducted as part of Pan India Awareness and Outreach Programme and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and to mark international day of girl child.

Speaking at the occasion, Secretary DLSA ( Sub Judge ) Romesh Lal threw light on the legal values of observing awareness on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao. He said the Judiciary is always at the back support of women folk. He listed different flagship programmes aimed at welfare and empowerment of women.

Earlier, Advocate Mohammad Majid Malik- the resource person highlighted the structure of legal services and its role in facilitation of justice for the girl child. He informed that the DLSA is bridging the gap between justice and people in deprivation.

He informed that the scheme is meant to address the grave issues of rising crime against women and low gender ratio and added that under the Constitution, women have equal rights as men so as to enable them to be part of the administration and decision making.

Ankush Yogi, Sumira Tabssum, Rita Devi, Neha Devi, Asha Devi, Reenu Parihar, Priyanka Sharma and Afzal Dev also participated in the awareness campaign.
