Hydrant type, Fire fighting system installed by Mechanical unit JKPCC Ltd was today test-checked at Mini Secretariat, Kulgam.

The test was conducted in presence of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat.

ADDC Kulgam, Showkat Ahmad Rather; ACR, DIO, AD Fire and Emergency Service, Kulgam, officials of MED and JKPCC Mechanical Unit were present on the occasion.

The test of the fire fighting system was done successfully and is a significant step towards ensuring a safe working atmosphere for staff working in the largest office complex of the district.

The staff of Fire and Emergency services were involved in the test, checking its functioning and strength to deal with any fire incident.

The system is fitted with Pump capacity of 2280 LPM main pump, 180 LPM JOKY pump and a Sump Capacity of 50,000 lts.

It is equipped with three fire pumps consisting of two electrical and one Diesel driven back-up pump and shall cater to all floors of the building with 32 hydrants inside and outside of the building including 22 first aid pipe reels inside the building and 10 no. Yard hydrants outside the building.
