Work on NH-1 project be Expedited: DC B’la to executing agencies

To discuss various issues relating to National Highway from Narbal to Baramulla and Baramulla to Uri, a meeting of all the concerned officers was today held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar at DC Office here.

A threadbare discussion was held on the subject besides shifting of utilities and pending land acquisition cases was also discussed comprehensively.

While reviewing the progress of the Srinagar – Baramulla – Uri National Highway project, the DC asserted that the project is of strategic importance and stressed for its timely completion.

On the occasion, Dr Sehrish directed the concerned executing agencies to expedite the work on the project and complete it within stipulated time frame. Collectors were also directed to complete land acquisition proceedings.

The DC also exhorted that land acquisition processes for construction and widening of the highway project be expedited.

Giving deadline for cutting of trees on the National Highway, the DC directed the concerned department to ensure the completion of Cutting down of trees within two weeks.

Meanwhile, the DC also called to settle down of roads under PMGSY especially in sub division Uri. She also directed for shifting of utilities on the National Highway for which the DC asked the concerned departments to adopt coordinated approach to settle the issues at an earliest.
