Higher education for young aspiring minds can be facilitated if proper education opportunities exist which can be harnessed. In the consistent initiatives of Indian Army under Operation Sadhbhavana, yet another fresh batch of students were selected to be sent for senior class studies to Army Public School, Beas, Jalandhar by grant of Operation Sadhbhavana Scholarship. The new batch of 18 students comprise of two students from the Class VIII and total 16 students of Class IX. Out of the total 18 Students, 17 are boys and 01 Girl student namely Miss Simran Manzoor of Class IX hailing from Kupwara District. The selection procedure for this scholarship includes an entrance exam followed by personal interview of the candidate. Besides merit, preference is also given to students from economically challenged background and below poverty line.
The fresh batch of 18 students were sent off with full fanfare event which was conducted at UDAAN School, Drugmulla. The event witnessed interaction of students and parents with Indian Army, distribution of kits, tea which followed the departure. The students were very happy to have been granted this scholarship. The proud parents expressed their joy by thanking Indian Army and Vajra Division for their consistent support for all initiatives for the development of UT of J & K. The students will now undergo their further studies at APS, Beas till Class XII. APS, Beas is a state of art modern school with all amenities of curricular & co-curricular activities which will help these young minds to be groomed holistically to take up challenges in their future lives.
