Capacity Building Training on Drug Demand Reduction concludes in Jammu District

The 3-Day Capacity Building Training Course on identification, treatment, aftercare and rehabilitation of substance dependents concluded in District Jammu.

The workshop was organised by District Social Welfare Officer Mamta Rajput under the overall supervision of ADC (L&O) Harvinder Singh.

The Resource person, Shifali Gupta Sr Lecturer, who is also District Counseling Coordinator for three day, along with Dr Sukrita Sharma Psychiatrist and Palvi from an NGO conducted the training sessions.

Action plan for the Drug Demand Reduction was discussed in the workshop attended by Corporators, Sarpanchs, Advocates, Teachers, Asha workers and other concerned participated.

The resource persons highlighted the importance of early identification of users, their treatments, aftercare and rehabilitation, besides role of front line workers in the dissemination of information about the users.

Speaking on the occasion, ADC Jammu Harvinder Singh urged the stakeholders to bear their responsibility and act accordingly.

He also said that the administration is committed to curb drug abuse and it has taken a wide range of steps to deal with the menace.
