DC Reasi reviews implementation of NTCP, PCPNDT Act

meeting of key stakeholders of District Level Co-ordination Committee under National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) was held today under the Chairpersonship of Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Babila Rakhwal here in the DC Office.

The meeting started with the power point presentation by Shiveta Raina (Divisional Coordinator, NTCP). She gave a brief introduction about epidemiology of Tobacco use. The key facts & figures were also discussed in detail.

Deputy Commissioner, Babila Rakhwal, laid stress on household survey in villages, yellow lining in schools/educational institutions, signages of tobacco free village & Educational institutions, joint inspections in 12 CD Blocks by key stakeholders, constitution of village level co-ordination committees, 24×7 LED Display & scrolling of IEC in District Hospital & CHC Katra & various other issues & decision were also taken.

Later, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Ravinder Singh, gave a brief presentation on working of District Health Society and Maternal/Child care. Chairperson District Health Society Reasi also reviewed implementation of PC&PNDT Act and focus was laid on referral review/audit, implementation of Anemia Mukt Bharat & Menstrual Hygiene Programme in Schools, line listing of RBSK cases identified for any defect and inspection of clinical establishments.

The meetings were attended by Additional Superintendent of Police, Dy SP HQ, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Tehsildar, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Principal Higher Sec School, Aghar Jitto, representative of Chief Education Officer District Social welfare Officer, Medical Superintendent, DH, Dy CMO, District Health Officer, Block Medical Officers, Pouni, Mahore & Reasi, District Nodal Officer, Ayush, Reasi, District Programme Management Unit.
