Hand holding Session for JJM stakeholders conducted in Kupwara

Mission Directorate, Jal Jeevan Mission, J&K, in collaboration with District Project Management Unit, Jal Jeevan Mission, Kupwara Wednesday conducted a day-long Mega Handholding Session at Meeting Hall of DC Office Complex.
Aim of the Handholding Session was to create awareness about the importance of water quality for public Hygiene and demonstrations of Field Test Kits.
The sessions witnessed participation of different stakeholders including PRIs, Pani Samiti members, Field staff of Jal Shakti Department, ASHAs, AWWs, Staff of District Project Management Unit JJM, Implementation Support Agency (ISA), Water Testing Lab Staff, Field Testing Kit Users and other concerned.
The well-attended session was presided over by ADC Kupwara, Gh. Nabi Bhat who impressed upon the participants to take full benefit of this handholding-cum-awareness programme and fully learn from live demonstration of test kits. ADC highlighted the role of Women in water conservation and said that women can play an important role in better management.
District Project Manager JJM Kupwara, Engineer Muhammad Hidayatullah highlighted a series of steps undertaken in Kupwara district for successful implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission.
The other experts on the occasion, highlighted various aspects of Jal Jeevan Mission, Water Management, Conservation Measures and the importance of Jal Jeevan Mission for ensuring adequate, clean tap water to every household.
A demonstration session on water testing was also conducted to acquaint the Paani Samitis and other stakeholders. IEC Expert of JJM explained in detail the role and duties of the stakeholders including Pani Samitis, PRI members, Asha and Anganwadi workers and shared best practices of Water Management and Rain Water Harvesting with the audience and motivated them to play their role with a missionary zeal towards fulfilling the vision of JJM.
Meanwhile, PRIs, Pani Samites and other stakeholders were felicitated with Certificates of Appreciation for their active participation in implementation of JJM –Har Ghar Jal.
