July 16: The Football tournament organized by 179 CRPF in which 16 teams participated in North Kashmir’s Sopore concluded on Sunday, with SRM Welkin Sopore emerging as the winner.
The tournament was held in memory of Shaheed Nisar Ahmad Lone, who sacrificed his life for the country in a terrorist attack in Sopore in 2007.
The tournament was aimed to promote sports in the region and to encourage young talent to come forward and showcase their skills.
The tournament has received a positive response from the locals, who are thrilled to see such events happening in their town. It has not only provided a platform for young cricketers to showcase their skills but has also boosted the morale of the local youth.
The final match was played between KFC 11 Vs SRM Shool Sopore in which SRM School won by 01 Goal
On the occasion,CO 179 Crpf Shri Santosh Kumar Mall, attended the occasion as a chief guest,besides Principal Hr Sec Sopore Mushtaq Sopori,2/1c 179 Shri Navin Chandra,DC Abay Singh Batti,DC Ajaye Kumar,AC Shri Anand Kumar,AC Joginder singh
President Teachers Association Zone Dangerpora Javaid Iqbal Dar,was also present on the occasion.
The winning team was awarded Rs 21000 and the rolling trophy
The Runners Up was awarded Rs 11000 and the man of the tournament was awarded to Srm Welkin Student Hanan Ibraheen Guroo was awarded a 5000 cash prize with a Trophy.
