Local Poets, Artists mesmerise audience with scintillating Performances

Under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch, Vinay Kumar, District Police Poonch today organised a ‘Mehfil-e-Mushaira’ here in SKC Government Degree College as part of its civic action programme.

The Senior Superintendent of Police said that the event aimed to promote communal harmony and National Integration in the region and brought together a large gathering of people from different walks of life.

The chief guest of the event was DDC Chairperson, Tazim Akhter and the Guest of honour was Deputy Commissioner, Yasin M Choudhary (IAS).

Other dignitaries present on the occasion included President Municipal Council Poonch, Sunil Sharma; Dy Commander 93 Brigade, Manish Rana; Principal SKC Degree College Poonch, Dr. Jasbir Singh; Assistant Commissioner Development, Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi; ARTO/ DIO Poonch, Basharat Mehmood; District Treasury Officer Poonch, Rashid Dostum; Taj Mir, prominent citizens, and locals.

The event featured local poets and artists from different parts of the district who mesmerized the audience with their talent.

The official anchor, Pardeep Khanna conducted the proceedings of the programme.

Prominent among the poets who performed on the occasion included K D Maini, Haji Nazir Bhatti, G S Gulshan, Saleem Tabish, Sadam Sarif, Ishrat Hussain Bhatt, Vijay Geeta, Miss Zahida Khanum, Miss Zahida Chodhary, Nazak Shah, Prof Fateh Mohd Abbasi, Ahtsham Hussain Bhatt, and Nazak Shah Kaat Dena.

Speaking on the occasion, DDC Chairperson, Tazim Akhter underscored the objectives of organizing such programmes, stating that J&K Police’s aim is to provide a platform to talented individuals to display their abilities and channelize the energy of youth towards exploiting their full potential.

The event successfully brought people from different communities and backgrounds together, promoting communal harmony in the region.
