Agri Deptt conducts Awareness programme on ‘Daksh Kisan’ Portal at GDC Kilam

One day awareness programme on “Daksh Kisan Learning Management System” (DKLMS) was today organized by Agriculture Production Department Kulgam at Government Degree College, Kilam under “Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP)’’.

The programme was attended by Principal Government Degree College Kilam, Faculty members, Block level officers from agriculture & allied departments besides a large number of students of the College.

At the outset, Principal GDC Kilam presented a welcome note and briefed the participants about the role of agriculture and allied sectors in the economy of UT of Jammu and Kashmir.

Resource Person, Shabeer Ahmad Mir highlighted the background of HADP- an amalgam of 29 interlinked projects, Kisan Sampark Abhiyan, and importance of the event in sensitization of youth about the new technologies, interventions in agriculture and allied sectors, Skill development and empowerment of farmers, agri-preneurs and employment opportunities for educated unemployed youth.

Dr. Nisar Ahmad Dar Technical Officer to CAO Kulgam, deliberated on Kisan Saathi IT dashboard (for online application to avail benefits under HADP) and Daksh Kisan web portal which offers orientation and 121 skilling certificate courses for all interventions, latest techniques, exploration of new possibilities in agriculture and allied sectors.

He further emphasized on participants to register on Daksh Kisan portal to become skillful agri-preneurs to adopt the agri and allied sectors as start ups and entrepreneurship avenues.

Moreover, pamphlets were also distributed amongst the students in the event having simple QR codes for registration.
