Adv Amir Shafi, Panel Lawyer, spokes on the occasion and highlighted the theme for World Population Day 2023, “Unleashing the power of gender equality: Uplifting the voices of women and girls to unlock our world’s infinite possibilities”.

World Population Day is observed on July 11th annually to create awareness about global population issues including the overgrowing population and measures to control it. The observance of World Population Day was established by the Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme in 1989 and was first observed on July 11th, 1990.

World Population Day aims to raise awareness among the general population about various population issues such as the importance of family planning, gender equality, poverty, maternal health, human rights, etc. This day seeks to focus attention on the urgency and importance of population issues.

World Population Day serves to highlight the growing problems that come with a growing global population.

Overpopulation is a crucial issue, especially considering that world resources are depleting at an unsustainable rate. So effective population control measures is the need of the hour.
