Sales Tax Department B’pora facilitates Interactive Session to Boost Sales Tax Compliance

As part of ongoing GST Week celebrations, the State Taxes Department circle Bandipora on Friday organized an interaction session with various stakeholders at State Tax office Bandipora.

The session was presided over by Mehraj Wani, State Taxes officer circle Bandipora.

The stakeholders included traders, bakery owners, restaurant owners and hoteliers.

Mehraj Wani expressed his gratitude to all the stakeholders present for their contribution in the GST growth story in J&K and for braving all the challenges since the inception of GST in 2017.

Wani emphasized the need for more collaboration and cooperation between the Department and stakeholders in order to encourage professional and ethical business practices, curb novel tax evasion techniques, ensure better awareness of GST laws, enhance efficiency of the tax system and resolve compliance issues towards overall economic growth.

The participants actively exchanged ideas, best practices, and suggestions, aimed to enhance the effectiveness of GST in Jammu & Kashmir.

He further added that such programmes will continue in all sub divisions of the district and camps for GST registration shall be conducted in the Gurez area in the next month.
