Publications highlight socio-economic profile of the District

With an aim to highlight year-wise trajectory of development and socio-economic profile of the District, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today released three District Level publications in a function held at mini-secretariat, Kulgam.

The publications include “District Statistical Handbook-2021-22”, a compendium of socio-economic data highlighting the performance achieved in core sectors- Health, Education, Public Infrastructure, Rural Development, Agriculture and allied sectors, governance and planning over the years.

The second publication released includes “Village Amenity Directory 2021-22”, a directory of 87 amenities/facilities available at the block and village level, having special relevance in spatial planning and gap analysis for the rural planning.

He also released “District at a Glance 2021-22”- a packet size publication for ready reference about the yearly data in socio-economic spheres.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC stressed upon the importance of qualitative statistics for effective planning and governance, and stressed upon the field departments to provide reliable data so that the achievements can be reflected annually.

Present on the occasion were ADDC, Showkat Ahmad Rather; CPO, Zahid Sajad and DSEO, Suheel Ahmad Malik.
