DC reviews status of PMGSY projects in Rajouri

Work completed on 207 schemes in twin divisions of the district

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today conducted an extensive road-wise review of the progress of work on Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) projects in the district.

During the review, the DC directed the concerned authorities to expedite the progress of work and achieve the targets within the given timelines.

The division-wise targets and achievements were also discussed. It was informed that out of 128 schemes, the work on 116 schemes is complete in Budhal division. Similarly, in Rajouri, out of 203 schemes, the work on 191 schemes is complete. The DC emphasized on enhancing the progress on priority projects. Additionally, issues impeding the execution of work on the projects were also discussed in the meeting.

The DC stressed on completion of projects within the given time frame and ensuring that the benefits of PMGSY schemes reach the intended beneficiaries at the earliest.

The PMGSY scheme is a crucial initiative by the Government of India, aimed at providing all-weather road connectivity to the rural areas.

The scheme has been instrumental in improving the socio-economic condition of people living in remote areas, by connecting them to the mainstream economy.

The meeting was attended by the Executive Engineer of PMGSY Rajouri, the Executive Engineer of PMGSY Budhal, Imtiaz Mir and other concerned officers.
