CMO Doda reviews status of routine immunization

To review the status of Routine Immunization in the District, the Chief Medical Officer Doda, Dr. Ab Hamid Zargar convened a meeting in his office chamber.

The meeting was attended Deputy CMO, Dr. Om Kumar Bhagat; District Immunization Officer, Dr. Versha Sharma; DMEIO, Shiv Pal Singh; DMEO NHM, C K Shan; VCCM, Priyanka Manhas; Attu (HE), Mohd Shafi; Head Phst Rishi Pandita and BMEO Ghat, Mashhood Latif while BMOs attended the meeting through virtual mode.

The CMO took a detailed review of the latest status of the Routine Immunization and achievements thereof including category wise and block wise vaccination.

The Dy. CMO and DIO gave a detailed presentation on the component wise achievements of Routine Immunization. They briefed about the block wise status and action taken by the department to cover all the dropout children of different age groups.

A threadbare discussion was held on different issues like health care achievements, patient care, FW and immunization and other related issues in the meeting.

The meeting further discussed the elimination of measles and Rubella diseases through preventive measures in the form of vaccines. To identify the left out and drop out/Infant children, the meeting stressed on following a collective approach and collection of samples of all cases having symptoms like fever with rashes.

Further, a detailed discussion was held regarding implementation of the road map formulated by the Government for Measles, Rubella elimination from the country by 2023

The CMO enjoined upon the Dy. CMO, DIO and other participants work in close coordination to make the Routine Immunization programme successful in the District. He asked to put in extra measures to ensure that no measles case appears among children in the district and all the left out children are immunized.

He further asked the participants besides BMOs to utilize the services of field staff including Anganwadi Workers, ASHAs, Health Workers, Teachers and other stakeholders to create awareness about measles and other such diseases and to reduce dropout to 0% under the routine immunization in the district.
