DLSA Samba organises legal awareness program on ‘protection of women against Domestic Violence

A legal awareness program on “Protection of Women against Domestic Violence” was today organised by District Legal Services Authority Samba in collaboration with One Stop Centre Samba at Panchayat Ghar, Chak Nazir, Anandpur, Tehsil Ramgarh District Samba.

The event was held as per the Action Plan issued by J&K Legal Services Authority, (JKLSA) for the month of June, 2023 and also under the directions of Yesh Paul Kotwal, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Samba, (also Pr. District and Sessions Judge Samba).

Nisha Rani, Deputy Legal Aid Defence Counsel, District Legal Services Authority Samba was the resource person in the program. She talked about different provisions of “The Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005”.

The objective of organising this legal awareness program was to raise awareness among the participants as to how to ultimately contribute to promoting zero tolerance to violence against women and to increase understanding of different forms of violence against women.

The program was organised under the supervision of Rekha Kapoor Nischal, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority Samba.

The program was attended by the Rajinder Kour, Paramedical, One Stop Centre Samba, Inshal, Counseller, One Stop Centre Samba, Rajkumari, Sarpanch, Panchayt Chak Nazir, women folk of village Anandpur and Para Legal Volunteers of DLSA Samba.
