DC Samba reviews arrangements for Baba Sidh Goria Mela

Deputy Commissioner Samba Abhishek Sharma today convened a meeting at the Shrine of Baba Sidh Goria to review the arrangements made for the forthcoming annual mela at the shrine.

Mela Baba Sidh Goriya at village Swankha will be held on July 2, 2023. During the meeting, the DC directed the functionaries of R&B to ensure the blacktopping of all major roads connecting the shrines well before commencing of these famous Melas.

He further asked for early completion of the repair and improvement works for the convenience of the devotees visiting the twin shrines. The PHE Department was asked to ensure uninterrupted water supply with provision for additional water tankers, while the PDD was asked to make provision of lighting at the venue during the Mela days.

Stressing on maintaining sanitation during Mela at the shrine, the DC asked the concerned departments to provide adequate number of dustbins at the venues keeping in view the huge rush of devotees visiting the shrines during this annual event. The DC asked different departments to establish stalls of their respective departments to inform the visiting devotees regarding the schemes and welfare programmes. He stressed on synergy among the concerned departments and asked them to ensure that the requisite arrangements are put in place on time for smooth conduct of the Mela.

DC also reviewed the security arrangements and preparedness related to Fire and Emergency Services, traffic regulation etc. A committee was also constituted for keeping check on quality and rates of eatables.

Mahant Bhola Nath, SDM Vijaypur Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Tehsildar Ramgarh Farooq Ahmed, BDO Ramgarh Mukesh Sharma, Xens of PWD, PDD, PHE, Committee members and general public also attended the meeting.
