DC reviews progress achieved in meeting MGNREGA indicators in Udhampur

To review the progress achieved in meeting indicators under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Sachin Kumar Vaishya today convened a meeting of officers of Rural Development Department here in the Mini Conference Hall DC Office Complex.

Detailed discussions were held on different aspects which include tendering process, Renovation of traditional water bodies, Allotment of works, Timely payment, Quality check, Solid and liquid waste management, Aadhaar authentication, Shelf of works, Registration and verification of Awaas Plus, water conservation and water harvesting, rural connectivity and sanitation etc.

While reviewing the block wise progress of tendering process and allotment of works under MGNREGA, the DC asked the BDOs to complete all the allotted works at an earliest.

He exhorted the officers and field functionaries to work with dedication and in a transparent manner to complete the works within the fixed time frame ensuring desired quality and providing early benefits to people in rural areas. He stressed upon the officers to maintain the transparency and accountability in all the works being executed under MGNREGA in the District.

The ACD was directed to ensure close monitoring of ongoing works to ensure quality and adherence to timelines and submit the report on a daily basis. The DC set the target of completing 300 allotted works within a week time.
