DC Budgam takes stock of Muharram arrangements

The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Budgam, Akshay Labroo today chaired a meeting of District officers to review arrangements for the upcoming month of Muharram-ul-Harram starting from 19 July 2023.

During the meeting, representatives of various organizations put forward their issues with respect to arrangements for Muharram.

The DC assured them that all of their issues will be resolved promptly.

He instructed the concerned Departments to ensure availability of doctors and medicines, erection of High Mast lights and LEDs at required places, uninterrupted supply of drinking water and electricity, repair of roads, adequate supply and prompt distribution of ration, supply of firewood at identified locations, proper sanitation and cleanliness drive during the ensuing period.

The Fire and Emergency department were directed to remain alert and prepared to deal with any eventuality.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Budgam said, there would be proper security arrangements in place during the processions across the district.

Besides, SSP Budgam Al Tahir Gilani, ADDC Budgam Dr.Akhramullah Tak, CMO, ACD, ACR, ACP, SDMs, Executive Engineers of all departments and other District/Sectoral officers, Shia delegations of different shia Anjumans were present in the meeting.
