Horticulture Department Budgam creates awareness on Apple Leaf Blotch Miner, Pests & Diseases

A team of Horticulture department Budgam today visited Nasrullahpora area in the district to create awareness and management of Apple Leaf Blotch Miner and other Pests and Diseases in Orchards.

The team headed by Chief Horticulture Officer Budgam comprised of Senior Scientist of Sheri Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology (SKUAST-K) and other Officers of the Department.

 

The Chief Horticulture Officer stressed upon participating farmers to follow the Advisory issued by the Department of Horticulture in letter and spirit so that the infestation of the pest is managed in its initial phase.

 

He also advised the field functionaries of the Department to remain alert and keep monitoring about the status of the management/SOPs followed by the farmers.

 

Later, the Chief Horticulture Officer Budgam listened to the problems of the Farmers. He assured them that the department will leave no stone unturned to resolve their issues and the availability of the pesticides will be kept available hassle free to the farmers.

 

Chief Horticulture Officer on spot distributed advisories amongst the farmers who were present there in the Awareness camp and also directed the field functionaries to upload the advisories in “Farmers WhatsApp Groups”.
