Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rakesh Minhas today chaired a meeting to finalize the arrangements for smooth conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2023.

DC State Taxes, DPO ICDS, Registrar (Yatra Officer), GM DIC, CPO besides other district and sectoral officers attended the meeting.

 

At the outset, the DC impressed upon all the concerned officers to speed up the revamping works including augmentation of amenities/ facilities to give lakhanpur corridor a new look where yatris receive warm reception and hassle free access to the amenities.

 

The DC, while reviewing the arrangements directed the Nodal Officers to personally visit the facilities including designated lodgment centers to ensure all amenities are in place for the facilitation of yatris.

 

The DC impressed upon the stakeholder departments to ensure provision of safe drinking water, power supply, Medical facilities, toilets, Sanitation facilities, lodging and langer facilities, Traffic and security arrangements etc. He directed the departments to work in tandem for finalizing the necessary arrangements at the earliest.

 

Directing the concerned officers of NHAI & Tourism department, the DC called for ensuring installation of digital screens, hoardings and signages on Yatra route across the district.

 

The DC directed MC Lakhanpur and Hiranagar to maintain proper sanitation in their respective areas with special focus on conducting anti-polythene drives.

 

The meeting also finalized the plans for illumination of dark spots, establishment of RIFD counters, establishment of control rooms, framework for disaster plan, check on quality of food and eatables, proper sanitation on yatra route etc.
