Karnah Kupwara:Govt Schools in the far flung border areas are one of the primary institutions for shaping the future of the young generations, they are not only responsible for the education but also play a pivotal role in imparting practical knowledge them.
It was lately observed that the Govt Schools of Karnah region had libraries but in under-utilised state.
The Youth Centre Tangdhar, identified Govt Schools to be equipped with audio visual libraries and experimental kits for better learning experience and understanding concepts of elementary science in easier ways.
Indian Army collaborated with Vigyan Prasar which is an autonomous organisation under Department of Science and Technology, Govt Of India for setting up of the libraries in the Govt Schools of Karnah. Under this initiative a total of 100 educational kits were made available by Vigyan Prasar which were further distributed to the Schools in an event organised at Govt Boys High School, Tangdhar. The event was attend by 90 student representatives and a total of 22 faculty members from 16 schools.
The event started with a video conferencing between the executives of Vigyan Prasar, Delhi and the Govt School teachers of Karnah. Mr B K Tyagi and Mr Bharath Bhushan interacted with the teachers and briefly enlightened them about utilisation of the educational kits and methods to improved pedagogy techniques. Further, the students were introduced to the experimental kits with the help of demonstrations.
