Vice Chairman, District Development Council (VC-DDC) Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir and Deputy Commissioner, (DC) Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray today laid foundation stone of a link road project at Kuligam Lolab of Kupwara district.

Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Lolab, Executive Engineer R&B, BDO Wavoora, BDC Chairperson Wavoora, PRIs and the people were present at the occasion.

 

The construction of the link road is approved under NABARD scheme and will involve a cost of Rs.688.94 lakh. The road will facilitate connectivity to several villages including Kandhar, Shalpora, Cheepora, Changdi Ahanger Mohalla and Kraldub.

 

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the Kupwara district especially Lolab sub division has witnessed better road connectivity during the past few years adding that the District Administration Kupwara is committed for overall development of the district.

 

Meanwhile, Vice Chairman DDC expressed his gratitude towards the DC for his attention towards the development of the Lolab sub division. He said upgradation of basic infrastructure including better roads, water supply, electricity, education and healthcare will boost the living standard of the people of this far flung area.

 

The PRIs and common people of the area have expressed their gratitude towards the District Administration for resolving their long pending demand of road connectivity.
