The purpose of the visit was to assess the progress and provision of the machinery involved in the execution of the Goha-Khellani Marmat stretch of New National highway.

Accompanied by NHIDCL GM, Col Gill Naginder and Tehsildar besides other concerned, the DC Doda asked to expedite the construction work on the tunnel and the highway.

During the visit to the construction site, the DC Doda urged the local residents residing near the highway construction site to vacate their houses. The request was made in light of the ongoing execution work on the tunnel and highway. The Deputy Commissioner assured the affected inhabitants that they would receive proper compensation for their vacated houses. He directed the Tehsildar and GM NHIDCL to prepare a compensation report in adherence to the appropriate land records.

This would facilitate payment of timely compensation to the affected residents and allow the execution of the tunnel and highway to proceed smoothly.

The visit highlighted the commitment of the Deputy Commissioner and the authorities involved in ensuring the smooth execution of the Goha-Khellani Marmat highway project. By addressing the issue of houses located near the construction site and promising compensation, DC Doda aimed to alleviate any concerns of the affected residents.

This proactive approach will contribute to the timely completion of the tunnel and highway, enabling improved connectivity and infrastructure in the region.
