SHOPIAN, JUNE 07: The District Employment and Counselling Centre (DE&CC) Shopian today organised a Career Expo cum Job Fair at Shopian, where-in reputed employers from different sectors participated for on-the-spot placements of unemployed youth of the district.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb presided over the programme.
Addressing youth on the occasion, the DC impressed upon all the stakeholders to utilize this opportunity to the maximum so that youth are benefitted from the event.
He also interacted with youth and sought feedback from them while also listening to their grievances.
Assistant Director, DE&CC, Shopian, Hafsa Qayoom, and other officials emphasized to the unemployed youth to register themselves on employment portal (www.jakemp.nic.in) to get latest updates and job notifications related to vacancies put up by private and public sector employers.
During today’s fair, around 8 employers from different sectors including companies like Hyundai Pvt Ltd., ICICI Bank, Bajaj Allianz, SBI Life, Nature Care Pvt. Ltd. LIC and Fair Deal Motors participated which witnessed an overwhelming response from Job Seekers.
More than 400 unemployed youth/ job seekers from the district participated in the event in which more than 259 candidates were shortlisted for the interview.
The unemployed youth expressed their gratitude to the District Employment and Counseling Centre Shopian for organizing this Job Fair and bringing employers to their door steps.
