Tangdhar, :  In a bid to instill a sense of belongingness among the younger generation and promote awareness of India’s rich cultural heritage, the 27th Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) organized a Walkathon Run program as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations. The event aimed to deepen understanding about the nation’s struggles, sacrifices, and achievements, while also contributing to the process of nation building.  The Walkathon, which took place on a designated route from THQ, 27 Bn BSF Tangdhar to Govt Degree College and back, commenced at 10:30 am and concluded at 11:40 am. A total of 250 participants, including BSF personnel, students, and local youth, actively participated in the event. The officers and troops took the opportunity to interact with the students and teachers, fostering a sense of camaraderie and mutual understanding.  The program proved to be an engaging and enjoyable experience for the children, civil youths, and staff involved. The 27th Battalion BSF went the extra mile to ensure that refreshments were provided, adding a touch of festivity to the event.  The Walkathon served as a platform to bridge the gap between the BSF and the border population, especially the younger generation. By fostering a deeper connection and understanding of India’s diverse culture and historical significance, the event aimed to strengthen the bond between the security forces and the local community.  Speaking about the initiative, an official from the 27th Battalion BSF stated, “Our objective was to create a sense of belongingness and pride among the younger generation towards our nation. We wanted to educate them about our glorious past, the struggles we faced, and the sacrifices made by our ancestors. By organizing this Walkathon, we provided a platform for interaction and exchange of knowledge between the BSF personnel and the students, creating a positive environment for fostering national unity and building a stronger nation.”  The event garnered positive feedback from the participants, with many expressing their gratitude for the opportunity to engage with the BSF and learn more about India’s history. Such initiatives play a crucial role in strengthening the fabric of the nation, creating a shared sense of identity and purpose among its citizens.  As the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations continue, the Walkathon Run organized by the 27th Battalion BSF stands as a shining example of efforts to nurture cultural awareness, preserve heritage, and promote nation building among the younger generation.
