Srinagar June 06: The Department of Youth Services & Sports (DYSS) J&K remains committed to promoting sports and empowering the youth across North and Central Kashmir. A series of well-organized events and initiatives were conducted in the districts of Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Budgam, and Srinagar, showcasing the department’s dedication to fostering a culture of sportsmanship, teamwork, and overall development among the youth.
In District Kupwara, various competitions including Badminton and Football Trials were held, attracting a significant number of students from both government and private institutions. District Youth Services & Sports Officer Zahoor Ahmad Wani supervised these programs to ensure their smooth and effective conduct, aiming for better results in subsequent competitions.
In District Baramulla, a Cleanliness Drive and Kabbadi event were organized, emphasizing civic responsibility, cleanliness, and a drug-free lifestyle among the youth. These initiatives received enthusiastic participation from students, school staff, and field staff, contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment.
In District Bandipora, sports activities for household women were organized in Village KhanDyal, promoting inclusivity and providing equal opportunities for women to engage in physical activities. Additionally, an Inter Zonal District Level Yogasana Competition was successfully concluded, recognizing the exceptional skills and achievements of the participants.
Moving to Central Kashmir, District Ganderbal witnessed a spectacular Yoga Event that focused on promoting physical, mental, and spiritual well-being among the youth. The event saw the participation of students from various schools, and DYSSO Ganderbal Sheikh Shafqat Iqbal expressed gratitude to all the participants and affirmed the department’s commitment to organizing more such events in the future.
In District Srinagar, Inter School Zonal Level Competitions in various sports disciplines were conducted, fostering healthy competition and providing a platform for students to showcase their skills. Additionally, a week of sports activities for household women was initiated, encouraging their participation in sports and recreational activities.
District Budgam also witnessed a range of sports activities, including events for household women and golden age people, emphasizing the importance of fitness and participation. The programs organized in Beerwah and B.K Pora zones garnered significant enthusiasm and participation from both males and females.
