Mohmmad Idrees
The road race was held from Magam to Dobiwan being organized by the Department of Physical Education and sports Government Degree College Magam. The stretch of this road race was10 kilometers approximately. The students from diffrent semisters and classes of the college participated in the race. Wasim Raja, a student of second semester, secured the first position to the finish line. Javeed Bashir, student of 4th semester, and Ghulam Hussan Wani student of second semester, secured the second and third positions respectively. The race was flagged off by the Principal of the college Professor (Dr.) Mohammad Hussain Malik at 5:45 am from Magam. The Teaching and non teaching staff of the college was present on the occasion of flagg off cermony in the early morning. In addition to other staff members, the principal of the college was assisted during flag off cermony by the faculty members including Head, Department of Kashmiri Dr. Izhar-ul-Haq, Head Department of Environmental studies Dr. Sameer Farooq Parsa, Convener Sports Prof. Syed Idrees Ahmad, Physical Training instructor Dr. Zahoor Ahmad, Lecturer, Department of Commerce Dr. Mohmmad Idrees, Lecturer, Department of Business Administration Dr. Mehraj-ud-Din Ahmad, Lecturer, Department of Urdu Dr. Rehan Ahmed and Lecturer, Department of Persian Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad. The Police Department of Magam, Kunzar and Tangmarg and Health Services department Magam also assisted the college in holding the event successfully. A brief award distribution ceremony was held in the college’s conference hall where all the athletes, staff of the college and other collaborating agencies participated. The awards were distributed among the winners by the SDPO Magam and Principal of the college. The top seven position holders were given medals, while as the first three position holders were awarded medals and trophies. Breakfast was served to all concerned at the end of the function. During his speach, on the occassion of felicitation cermony in the conferance hall of the college and thanking the collaborating agencies for helping the college in successfully holding the event, the Principal praised the efforts of the college staff who were on duty in early hours and urged the students to take part in co-curricular activities. The principal also acknowledged their efforts.
