Srinagar, June 06: Senior BJP leader and party’s J&K spokesman Altaf Thakur while hailing the Bandipora polices’ war against drugs and seizing of property of a notorious drug peddler, today stated that after terrorism, Pakistan was pushing huge consignments of narcos into J&K to destroy the young generation which needs to be stopped and condemned by all forms.  In a statement issued here, BJP leader said that while Pakistan didn’t succeed in promoting terrorism as security forces eliminated almost all terrorists in the past few years and those remaining will also be killed soon, the neighbouring country is now employing new tactics of pushing in large amount narcos and other drugs to attract J&K’s young generation towards this menace. He said that there is a huge nexus between suppliers, peddlers and addicts across the UT, which needs to be broken by all means.  Thakur hailed the police efforts of zeroing in on the notorious drug peddler of Bandipora and seizing his property. He said this should be the eye-opener for the drug peddlers and suppliers across the UT and police in other districts of Kashmir must follow suit and choke the drug supply by catching the big fish.  Lashing out the Pakistani sympathizers in Kashmir, Thakur said there should be no reason for these people to remain silent on growing drug abuse in the Valley. “After terrorism, drug abuse is another big menace and a challenge for the police and administration. The way terrorism has been almost wiped out, drug rackets will also be busted. Sympathisers of Pakistan must condemn the channels through which drugs are reaching Kashmir. It is obvious that huge consignments of drugs are coming from across which needs to be condemned by all means by one and all irrespective of party ideologies,” he said, adding that “Some mainstream leaders who advocate talks with Pakistan must see where from the huge supplies of drugs are coming to Kashmir. How can talks with Pakistan happen when the country is hell-bent to destroy our young generation,” Thakur questioned.
