Transport, Traffic management reviewed at Handwara

KUPWARA, MAY 30: In order to review the issues pertaining to Transport & Traffic system in Handwara Town, ADC Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir today convened a meeting of concerned officers at ADC Office Handwara.  Tehsildar Handwara, ARTO Kupwara, SDPO, EO MC Handwara and representatives of Transporters Association attended the meeting.   The meeting held a threadbare discussion and it was given out that all small Addas/stands of Handwara town will be clubbed and optimum use of the space of New Bus Stand have to be ensured.  Other major issues were also discussed including one way traffic entry into the New Bus Stand Handwara, traffic congestion at Handwara Town, illegal encroachment on foot paths by shopkeepers, shifting of small cart vendors from road sides and optimum use of space of old Bus Stand.  On the occasion, the ADC impressed upon all the officers to make close coordination among themselves and ensure better traffic management in place in Handwara town so that general public especially commuters do not face any inconvenience.   During the meeting, a committee of officers consisting of Tehsildar Handwara, SDPO, ARTO and EO MC Handwara was framed which shall examine all issues pertaining to transport and traffic management. The committee shall submit a detailed report with specific recommendations to the ADC Office within 10 days.
