Karnah Kupwara: To commemorate liberation of Tithwal from armed tribal invaders and Pakistan Army in 1948, Tithwal day is celebrated every year on 23rd May. A day prior to Tithwal day, a series of events were conducted by the Shakti Vijay Brigade to make the event memorable. The day started with Mini-Marathon from Chhamkote to Tithwal Stadium with more than 100 people participating with full zeal and excitement. The Mini Marathon was followed by the conduct of rural games which saw participation from locals of all age groups. The events in rural games included Tractor pulling, catching the hen, kho-kho match and many other fun games. In the evening a volleyball match was played between the local team of Tithwal and brave hearts of the Indian Army. Along with all the events going on, agricultural display on one side of the Tithwal stadium by Agricultural Department,Tangdhar saw huge footfall. The farmers were explained about latest technology being incorporated in farming sector. The day ended with prize distribution followed by the refreshments to restore the energy for final day celebration.
