SHOPIAN, MAY 16: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb today convened a meeting of Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) at Mini Secretariat here to approve the Action Plan for the ensuing year and take review of the health sector of the district.  DDC Chairperson, Bilqees Akhter; DDC Vice- Chairperson, Irfan Manhas; DDC members, other concerned members were present in the meeting.  Dr. Jitender Mehta, Program Manager Quality Assurance, ASHA Program and DNB Incharge J&K also attended the meeting.  The Committee was apprised by the concerned about the requirements of upgradation works in various health institutions of the district especially at DH Shopian.  The meeting, after threadbare discussions on the proposals and Action Plans, submitted before the committee approved various developmental projects for augmentation of the health sector.  The committee approved projects including construction of Sarai, Compost Pit for Waste at District Hospital and upgradation works of Biomedical Waste Management, Drainage System, and registration section, street lighting in the premises of DH besides upgradation works in other health centres of the district.  The DC also took stock of the healthcare provisions and interventions needed across the healthcare institutions of the district and issued instructions for addressing the developmental gaps.
