In response to the representation of a group of shopkeepers running Waqf notified shops in the Chudi Market

Pulwama, Chairperson J&K Waqf Board, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi has ordered immediate takeover of the Shops on existing rent charges. In an order issued by the Central Waqf Office, 38 number of Shops under Waqf ID: JK-039559 have been brought under direct administrative control of Waqf on present rent structure till further orders. Administrator Kakapora/Newa Unit has been directed to collect rent from the Shopkeepers henceforth & Estates Wing of the Board has been directed to make necessary entries in the Inventory of directly administered Waqf properties. Pertinently, a large number of Waqf Notified Properties have been ignored over the years & left outside the administrative control of Waqf which has caused huge revenue losses to the Waqf Board.
