Karnah, 06 May 2023: In Karnah, the people of Ward 05 in Tangdhar A Panchayat are suffering as water flows on the footpath of their ward. The ward touches the NH701 and includes the SDM Karnah residence, yet no development has been seen in the area.  According to the residents of this ward, they don’t even have any developed footpaths. No development work has been done in the area, and not a single path has tiles. Despite the claims of the Karnah administration that development has been done, the reality is quite different.  Local Irshad wani said, “Is this a development? We don’t have paths to walk on; we don’t have roads.” Lakhs of rupees are utilised on the road, but still a single car isn’t able to cross (only benefiting the contractor and some people in this ward). “We are the face of Karah Tehsil, but we are waiting for development.”  Ab Qayoom Mir, Chairman of ESM Cell, and a local resident said, “Karnah is developed, but we are still in the 1990s.” No word is done till now for the benefit of the general public in this ward. “We request administration to look into this matter.”  The residents are now requesting that the district administration of Kupwara to look into this matter and solve their problems. The lack of basic infrastructure in the ward is causing great inconvenience to the people, and they are hopeful that the administration will take swift action to address their concerns.  Locals Of This Ward hopes that the authorities will take note of the plight of the people in Ward 05 of Tangdhar A Panchayat and work towards resolving their issues at the earliest.
