Srinagar, 06 May 2023. The first Annual  Training Camp of the current Training Year of 3 J&K Battalion NCC Baramulla is being held at Uri from 02 May – 11th May. 355 Cadets from 37 institutions of Baramulla, Bandipora & Kupwara are attending this camp.  The aim of the camp is to impart basic training comprising Drill, weapon training, Map Reading and also Personality development & Leadership Qualities.  It is indeed heartening to witness the cadets of remote far flung boder areas take part in the camp enthusiastically.  Brigadier  Kuldeep Singh Kalsi,  Group  Commander Srinagar Group, visited Uri, at the ATC camp site of 3 J&K NCC Battalion Baramulla on 05 May .  He was given an impressive Guard of Honour by the cadets followed by a formal briefing by the Commanding Officer.  He later visited the training area & was shown practical classes being conducted by the instructors and the Associated NCC Officers. He also motivated the cadets on the firing range , leading from the front by firing the best shot. He even mentored them by giving them some fine tips.  He highlighted the benefits of joining NCC and inspired the cadets to take part in all the NCC related activities.  He interacted with Commander 12 Infantry Brigade Uri &  also visited the Kamaan Post on Line of Control.  The high spirited participation of these young cadets which is being well appreciated by all the  educational institutions & the local population has indeed   projected the image of NCC as a true instrument of Nation Building.  PRO (Defence) Srinagar
