Sports activities, main attractions of the awareness camp

SHOPIAN, APRIL 25: Various activities under ‘Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP)    programme were held at Heerpora, Shopian to create awareness regarding the electoral process and to convey voter awareness messages.

The team of election employees under the supervision of Deputy District Election Officer Shopian, Jahangir Ahmed held a programme at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Heerpora Shopian here.

On the occasion, the participants were briefed about the basic knowledge related to the electoral process. In order to make the programme more attractive and attentive, a Cricket Match and Badminton Match were also organised.

The participants included teachers, students, BLOs and other officers/ officials who wholeheartedly took part in the activities to encourage and create awareness among all the eligible and prospective voters about the voter registration and electoral participation.

The programme also included the discussion regarding the Electoral Process, Constitution value of Vote, etc. with a view to incorporate the sense of electoral registration and participation in Voting.

Subsequently, all the participating students were asked to take a pledge

Election NT and Booth level Officers were also present during the programme and shared their experiences with the participants. The participants were also informed about the schedule issued by the Chief Election Officer J&K which commenced from 5th April and has been extended up to 6th of May 2023.

Further, the BLOs were stressed to bridge the gaps and that no voter shall be left behind during the ongoing SSR.

At the end, the participants, especially students, were urged to forward voter awareness messages and to promote voter literacy among all.

So far all the campus ambassadors have put their video messages on social media to woo new voters towards the ongoing enrollment drive.
