DDC Vice Chairman Kupwara lays foundation stone of WSS at Wavoora

KUPWARA, APRIL 15: Vice Chairman, District Development Council (DDC) Kupwara, Haji Farooq Mir today laid the foundation stone of Dug well (Source) for Water Supply Scheme (WSS) Surigam- Wavoora- BunMaidanpora which will be constructed at a project cost of Rs 9.30 lacs.  This scheme is being executed by Jal Shakti department PHE division Kupwara.  This scheme will benefit more than 15000 souls of Wavoora A, Wavoora B, Maidanpora A, Maidanpora B, and Surigam Panchayats.  While speaking after laying the foundation stone of the project, Vice Chairman DDC said that the DDC Council Kupwara along with District Administration is committed to provide clean drinking water and other essential facilities to all households of Kupwara district.  Vice Chairman impressed upon the Jal Shakti authorities to complete the project within stipulated time.  Addressing the gathering, the Vice Chairman said that Kupwara district is witnessing unprecedented development under the chair of District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray.  Vice Chairman was accompanied by BDC Wavoora, Muhammad Rafiq Katarya, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti, PRIs of Wavoora, Surigam and Maidanpora besides local residents.
