Asks officers to improve performance in agriculture & allied sectors  KUPWARA, APRIL 13: The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray today chaired the meeting of District Level Review Committee (DLRC)/District Consultative Committee (DCC) organised by District Lead Bank Office Kupwara, here.  Addressing the meeting, the DDC who is also Chairman of District Level Review Committee, advised all the banks and the sponsoring agencies to work with greater cooperation, coordination and cohesion to achieve the goals and targets of development and progress besides generation of employment for unemployed youth of the district.  He directed them to reflect and register every improvement and performance on the financial indicators.  He also directed all departments and banks to conduct awareness programmes at village/block levels to generate proper awareness about the schemes among the people. He said employment generation for youth is the top most priority of the Government and urged upon the sponsoring agencies and banks to work with added dedication for the betterment of youth.  The DDC asked the concerned officers of agriculture and allied sectors and heads of banking institutions to improve the indicators of agriculture and allied sectors and prioritise the saturation of the financial inclusion schemes of agriculture and allied sectors.  He emphasised upon the concerned officers to reflect the improvement of indicators and achievements in proper time so that the Aspirational District Programme dashboard is timely updated.  DDC asked the heads of banking institutions and chief agriculture officer Kupwara besides officers of allied sectors to saturate the KCC coverage and pay special attention to double cropping, animal husbandry and Fisheries.  He directed for the constitution of committee comprising of Lead Bank Manager, Cluster head of Bank and Chief Agriculture officer to submit a detailed report regarding the steps to be taken for improvement in agriculture schemes and inclusion of financial schemes within one month and make an action plan suggesting how agriculture and allied sectors are improved.  The DDC directed AMO, Horticulture, Planning and Marketing to sponsor at least 5 cold storage cases in Kupwara district as there is huge potential of cold storage in the private sector.  While highlighting the overall performance for 3rd quarter under Annual District Credit plan , Lead District Manager, Kupwara  Mehboob Ellahi Khan informed the house that against the Annual Credit Plan of  Rs.1303.02 Crores  for 2022-23, the achievements under priority sector advances were to the tune of Rs.546.68 Crores against target of Rs.1574.99 Crores for 3rd quarter 2022-23 which constitutes 35% while as under non-priority sector the achievements are to the Rs.1553.01 crore has been disbursed by the banks amongst 76159 beneficiaries under PM Mudra Yojana Scheme till 31-12-2022 since inception. The District has already sanctioned 3277 cases under various govt sponsored schemes & disbursed Rs.97.1 Crore.  Under the new KCC scheme for Animal husbandry, Sheep & Fisheries, the banks have sanctioned 12639 cases & have disbursed Rs.74.23 Crores to the beneficiaries.  The meeting was attended by representatives of banks and line Departments of the district.
