JAMMU, APRIL 13: Department of Botany, Padma Shri Padma Sachdev, Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar today organized a “Kite Making Competition” to celebrate Baisakhi Festival.  The programme was held under the patronage of Principal Prof. Minu Mahajan and supervision of Prof. Mala Bhasin, Head Department of Botany.   A total of 23 students of the Botany department participated in the event. A range of colourful kites were made by the students of BSc. Semester-2, with full zeal and enthusiasm. The programme was judged by Dr. Harjeet Kour Sodhi and Dr. Anju Koul of Department of Botany.  The First prize was clinched by Surbhi Gupta, while second prize was bagged by Baljeet Kaur. Sujasha Magotra got third prize while consolation prize was shared between Khushi and Zehra Batool.  The formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Sania Hamid.  The whole programme was successfully coordinated by Dr. Renu Sharma. Prof. Swarn Singh, Prof. Sugandha Mahajan, Prof. Meenakshi Sharma, Mr. Bilal Ahmed and Mr. Rampal were also present.
