KARNAH // Due to unexpected and inappropriate power cuts during the month of Ramadan, the consumers of Karnah are facing great difficulties. Although the authorities have assured to provide uninterrupted power supply during the month of Ramadan but this assurance is being flouted at the ground level and there is negligence and laziness in taking any meaningful steps to improve the power system. Earlier the district was supplied with satisfactory electricity from Arampura grade station, but now the receiving station was overcharged and due to overloading, a Grid station was established for Ramhal and Vilgam. However, with the improvement of the power system the people could be provided uninterrupted electricity supply, but in a short time there is an additional load on this grade station and the electricity supply reduced.  At the time of Suhoor and Iftar, people faced various problems and difficulties due to power cuts. All the towns and villages of Tangdhar block of Karnah are in darkness.  The government had planned to install additional 50MW power transformers in Arampura and Ramhal Grid stations, electricity supply was improved to some extent by installing power transformers in Arampura grade station, but in Ramhal grade station. As of now, the department has not taken any serious steps to install a power transformer due to which the areas connected to this grade are suffering from power outage. The people of Karna are plunged into darkness. As per the locals  the electricity bills are paid on monthly basis, but the department is not taking any serious steps to provide facilities.
