DC Jammu discusses arrangements for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2023

Assigns duties to concerned departments

JAMMU, APRIL 10: Deputy Commissioner Jammu Avny Lavasa today convened a meeting to review the arrangements for smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2023.  Commissioner JMC, Rahul Yadav; ADC L&O, Harvinder Singh; ADC (ADM), Sandeep Seointra; ACR, Piyush Dhotra; Deputy Director Information, Dr Vikas Sharma and other officers from concerned departments were present in the meeting.  At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner discussed the arrangements for facilities like drinking water, Mobile toilets, tatkal registration, RFID cards, setting up of langers and their permissions, welcome hoardings/banners, accommodation, transportation etc for pilgrims, especially at registration counters, yatri niwas and other important places.  It was informed that five counters would be established for Tatkal registration of the pilgrims at Vaishnavi Dham, Mahajan Sabha, Panchayat Ghar and two at Geeta Bhawan and Ram Mandir for the registration of Sadhus.  It was also apprised that a token counter would be established at Saraswati Dham to facilitate the pilgrims and crowd management.  The Deputy Commissioner also discussed the requirement of other facilities like accommodation, barricading, security arrangements, technical equipment and wi-fi, power and water supply at registration counters.  The duties were assigned to the concerned departments to ensure that all necessary arrangements for smooth conduct of Yatra were put in place well in time.  The JMC was given the responsibility of cleanliness, installation of mobile toilets, sanitation at yatri niwas, registration counters, Langer seva and Jammu City in general.  The CMO Jammu was asked to make available elaborate medical facilities for the pilgrims, while the RTO department was asked to keep a close check on fare charged by the transporters.  PHE and PDD were asked to ensure uninterrupted water and power supply respectively whereas police, CRPF were directed to ensure security arrangements at registration counters and yatri niwas well before time.
