Srinagar, Apr 6 : Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday held a host of programmes across Kashmir valley to mark its 44th Foundation Day.
Ashok Koul, the BJP General Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir UT, who was among the attendees at an event at Srinagar said the party was fully prepared for the upcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir, whenever they may be announced by the Election Commission of India.
Koul, as per GNS said that the party was founded on 6 April 1980 and it today marked its 43rd foundation day. The day, he said, is celebrated all over India, as well as in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
“We have gathered here to attend the speech of our Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. We all know what the BJP and Modi led government has done for the development of the country,” Koul said, adding that the government has taken many steps for the development of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Today, the foundation day of the party is being celebrated in more than 300 places,” he added.
When asked about the elections in Jammu and Kashmir, Koul replied, “We are fully prepared, whenever the Election Commission of India announces the dates, we, as members of the BJP, will participate in them.”
