04 Drug peddlers arrested in Budgam, contraband substance recovered

Budgam, 2nd April 2023: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police arrested 04 drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.

During Naka Checking at Choon Crossing police party from Police Station Budgam intercepted a vehicle MARUTI Eeco bearing registeration number *JK04H-1091* with two persons on board. During search *5.36 Grams* of Heroin like substance was recovered from their possesion.They have been arrested on spot and subsequently identified as:- *1)Mehraj-Ud-Din Mir son of Mohammad Sultan Mir resident of Choon Budgam*
*2)Shahbaaz Nisar son of Nisar Ahmad Ahangar resident of Ichgam Budgam*

Case FIR number *81/2023* under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation taken up.

During the course of investigation and on the disclosure of arrested accused persons, 02 more accused persons namely *1)Javeed Ahmad Lone son of Bashir Ahmad Lone resident of Eidgah Mohalla Humhama* & *2)Raqeeb Ahmad Dar son of Nazir Ahmad Dar resident of Gonikhan Srinagar A/P Gogoo Humhama* have been arrested in the instant case & *7.72 Grams* of Heroin like substance and cash of Rs *6400/=* was recovered from their possession. Further investigation into the matter is going on.
