The Kalaroos COB organised an art competition on 25 Mar 2023 in the remote village of Sarkuli in Kashmir’s frontier district of Kupwara. The aim of the event was to encourage children in extra-curricular activities with the theme being ‘This is my India’.

25 primary school children participated in the event, from remote villages of Sarkuli. The enthusiasm and creativity of the students was a sight to watch. All the participants were also gifted with drawing kits to encourage them in pursuing their studies, as well as taking up art as a hobby.

The event culminated with the prize distribution in which the sarpanch and headmaster of Sarkuli high school felicitated the winners. Students and teachers alike lauded the efforts of the army to organise the competition which gave them a chance to showcase their talents.
