SHOPIAN, MARCH 20: The Deputy Commissioner, (DC), Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today flagged-off a team of 20 farmers for a horticulture tour to the SKUAST-K Shalimar under (ATMA) Scheme.
The one-day training programme organized by the Horticulture Department for the farmers is aimed at educating progressive farmers with the new and modern methodologies in the farming sector.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC emphasized upon the farmers to avail benefits of the programme and aware other farmers also so that the overall production and productivity is enhanced.
He stressed for conducting more exposure tours besides educating other farmers on best practices.
The Joint Director, Planning, Khursheed Ahmed Khatana; Chief Horticulture Officer Shopian, Mohammad Ramzan War; Chief Agriculture Officer, Farooq Ahmed and other officers were also present on the occasion.
